Pets for Your Children

Usually, for safety and healthy reasons, parents did not allow their children have a pet. Yet, no matter if the child has provided pet, parents keep watching. Because, pets can be trained and honed sensitivity to the child’s friendship, support and compassion for living creatures. For busy parents, pets can be a good friend for the child.

Age appropriate

At toddler age, children are still overcome with annoyance of beloved animals. At this age children also did not understand exactly how to treat the animals. So they often touch or hold it too hard. sometimes by plucking and interesting animal fur. Well, this is sometimes makes the animals became angry and then attack or injure children.

That is why, the most recommended age for having a pet is a pre-school age, about  7  to 10 years. At this age children are able to express themselves to pets. Begin feeding, cleaning cages and bathing.

Choosing animals

Although the role of parents is required when election pets for children. However, the child should remain involved to determine what animal he wanted. But most important note is to find out beforehand whether your baby has allergies, so there are some animals that are not recommended.

Important note

Although the baby has a pet which has become his friend now, socializing with outsiders must remain to be done. Do not let your pet into the child’s imaginary friend, so he did not have another playmate.
